We’ve mentioned a few times around these parts that we don’t just do weddings and engagements. Benta Photo believes it is important to recharge our creative batteries from time to time. What better way to do that than to hop in a raft and float down a river through one of the most scenic canyons around? Last week Ben did just that – packing along his camera gear and capturing some amazing images of Glen Canyon and the San Juan River.
Ahh yes, the joys of getting an almost three-year-old to pose – and to think he really does love trains.
We annually trip down to Tucson in February or March. A splendid time to get out of Denver and enjoy the Sonoran desert. And of course I’ll carry the camera gear in order to have a fun little family photo session!
Shooting down near one of our favorite local jaunts, Borderlands Brewery (you have to try their German Chocolate Cake Porter), provided awesome murals and scenic railroad tracks…
Can you believe it? My nephew is a senior in high school! Having an uncle for a photographer meant for a super special senior class photo session! We headed downtown to capture the allure of the 16th street mall. Standing tall amidst the buildings and trees and clocktowers of Downtown Denver captured Aidan all grown up.
The Denver Pavilions has always been a favorite place for us to go for shopping and especially movies…
Introducing Chase Robert! Born on all hallows eve this little guy weighed in at 7 lbs 2 oz. Poppa Ben couldn’t be prouder! And what better way to create an amazing baby announcement then by bundling up the baby for a backyard ride in a little red wagon.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas Card Season! Benta headed out with the Wrights so that their card was sure to be featured prominently on all their friend’s fridges. We spent a golden hour in Civic Center Park with these five and just had too much fun!
Chinese New Year sculptures around the fountain made for a great panorama…
If the photographer is interested in the people in front of his lens, and if he is compassionate, it’s already a lot. The instrument is not the camera but the photographer.Eve Arnold
We are all a little weird and life’s a little weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love. Dr. Seuss
One of the true joys of being a photographer is being witness to a couple like Seyfe and Feben as they come together in love, marriage, and now a growing family. From their engagement photoshoot, to their special wedding day, to this new news that they’ve been shopping for some tiny little shoes!
What a fun couple, and what a fun idea for a baby announcement.
It’s Jamie and Curtis! Such fun shooting this newly engaged couple and their lovely puppy down at Riverfront Park. While we wish they weren’t getting married down in Mexico without us, we wish this happy couple a tremendous journey together!
Love doesn’t make the world go round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile. Franklin P. Jones
When Ben’s co-worker found out about this little photo business – she asked ‘do you do senior class photos’? Little did we know that twin sisters Rheanna and Adrienne would be such a joy to work with! And what better time to shoot portraits than fall in Colorado? We scouted out a nice meadow full of aspens near Denver, timed the lighting for the golden hour and simply lucked out with the weather.
Check out these shots and I think you’ll agree – yes, yes we do do senior photos.
What a magical summer wedding! Cheesman Park was the perfect backdrop for lovely union of Kaitlyn and Ben. The white columns with the lush park surroundings combined with the lovely sunset made for some super shots. The photogenic couple or one of the cutest ring bearers ever certainly didn’t hurt either!

Remember:
To find someone who will love you for no reason, and to shower that person with reasons, that is the ultimate happiness.
The paparazzi like attention of having a room full of people with cell phone cameras out and the pro’s with the large lenses up in your space – it can be overwhelming at first. We think you take better pictures when whelmed. With every Benta Photo wedding package we include a 90-minute engagement, or pre-wedding photo session, so we can learn your good side and you can get comfortable with us. It’s that little bit extra that really makes a difference.
With Kaitlyn and Ben we headed out to their wedding location at Cheesman Park to scout out some locations, check out the light, and sneak in a few pre-wedding kisses. #WorthIt.
Can’t wait to shoot the real thing in a couple weeks!
The sun was shinning atop the Denver Athletic Club in downtown Denver for Mollie and Jeremey. Before this amazing wedding started we were let in on a secret only the Bride and MC knew – Elvis was in the building. The Groom and the rest of the assembled friends and family were in for a surprise visit from the man in blue – and what a performance it was.
Meghan and Brandon decided to tie the knot in Key Largo Florida and Benta Photo was there to capture the weekend! Words cannot describe how much fun Meghan and Brandon and their entire family and wedding party were. We had such a great time on location photographing the festivities on the beach.
Benta Photo had the wonderful pleasure of photographing the special union of Kainin and Sam Burke! This amazingly fun couple tied the knot on the balcony above the Comedy Works in DTC. Beautiful views and a beautiful wedding party made our job easy. Check out some of the fun photos above, or for even more visit: https://pix.bentaphoto.com/meettheburkes/
#SNFtietheknot – And boy did they tie that knot in style! Benta Photo was honored to have been a part of this awesome couple’s incredible wedding weekend.
It was exhilarating hiding in the bushes waiting for the couple to walk up, seeing Dexter look for me in the crowd, and Erin’s surprise and happiness at his question. A glass of champagne and a chance to say congrats were a perfect end to seeing this couple change from boyfriend/girlfriend to each other’s fiancé’s. We are looking forward to capturing more special moments for you in the future!
You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.Ansel Adams
BentaPhoto doesn’t only do weddings. We also do portrait sessions. Lately, it’s been all babies all the time around here. I had the great pleasure of shooting the lovely and expecting Jeanine and her family, including the adorable Max!
What a wonderful spring engagement shoot! The slightly rainy and overcast skies provided the perfect natural diffused light that we love so much. The light sparkled off the water, and off this gorgeous and happy couple. We loved shooting in City Park w/ the great spring blossoms and the quintessential Denver skyline. We can’t wait until August to shoot this amazing couples wedding!
Our friend Ian Harwick is running for City Council in Denver District 7.
Denver District 7 includes Baker, Platte Park, Ruby Hill, Athmar Park and more. We lucked out on a gorgeous late January day and ran around the district snapping some shots of this eager campaigner on South Broadway, South Pearl Street, along the South Platte River and atop Ruby Hill.
While Benta Photo specializes in weddings and engagements, we really just love taking photos of fun loving people. Whether it’s a 5 year old’s birthday party, pictures of the young ones growing up, or full family photo shoots, we are down for it all. Slide through the gallery to see some of our favorite family portrait shots!
A couple that has fun together will stay together. It was Benta’s great pleasure to take the engagement photos of Meghan and Brandon, one of the happiest and fun loving couples we have met yet. Roxborough, Colorado was rumbling with the sounds of their Victory Motorcycles as we shot their pictures from the road. This beautiful landscape helped to show off their spirit as well as their home town college colors. Benta Photo had a blast shooting their engagement shots and can’t wait to photograph them again at their destination wedding next September!
Benta Photo had the great pleasure to take engagement photos with Leah and Patrick, an amazing couple who have a life time of happiness to look forward to. It had just begun to rain as we left for the Evergreen Boat House. The classic Colorado stormy weather led to scenic backdrops of fog, rainbows, and dramatic skies. It was yet another reminder that there is no such thing as “bad” weather when it comes to great photos.
Since the age of four, I have been best friends with Tangier and her sister Vanessa. We celebrated Vanessa’s wedding to her husband Justin this past summer. See Ben’s pics of their engagement shoot here and their wedding here. I had a feeling that after Vanessa’s wedding we would be celebrating Tangier and Ben!
Benta Photo hit the road to beautiful Tucson, Arizona for Justin & Vanessa’s wedding celebration. Their dual venue wedding provided some tremendous shot locations with their ceremony at the Tucson Botanical Gardens and their reception at the Whistle Stop Depot. Some rain on their wedding day made many images glisten and cooled off the desert heat. Thank-fully the skies cleared up quickly and the after nuptials shots turned out quite nice, if we do say so ourselves.
It was friends at first sight for May and I. We met through a mutual acquaintance and I instantly wanted May as my friend. It was my great pleasure to take their engagement photos and share in the celebration of their proposal.
